Privacy policy

This policy explains what the AB English platform (website and mobile app) collects, how we use it and how we protect it.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone (optional), password (stored hashed; we can't read it) and preferred language.
- Practice data: your answers, questions marked for review, highlights, time spent and scores.
- Payment details: the transfer screenshot you upload, the amount, method and reference. We never store card details.
- Messages: conversations with the academy team.
- App device data: a device name and a notification token so we can send alerts.
How we use it
- To run tests, score them and show progress to the student and their linked parent.
- To review payments and activate subscriptions.
- To send account-related notifications and messages (email and app notifications).
- To improve the question bank using aggregated statistics that don't identify students.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who can see your data
The student, a parent linked with the student's parent code, and academy staff (teachers, assistants and administrators) according to their role.
Service providers
The platform and its database are hosted by Railway, uploaded files are stored with Cloudflare R2, email is sent through Google (Gmail) and app notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from "My account" on the website or in the app. Deletion removes your name, email, phone, messages and payment screenshots; we keep only payment records (for accounting) and test answers without anything that identifies you.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and payment screenshots are private and visible only to authorised people.
Children
Students under 18 should register with a parent's agreement. A linked parent can follow the account and ask for it to be deleted.
